DES

NHS primary care practitioners aiming to perform and receive payment for surgical procedures under the Minor Surgery Directly Enhanced Service (DES) must provide evidence of ongoing training, including verification that a Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS) assessment has been conducted in a simulated environment.

This course includes a DOPS assessment, which will be documented on your Certificate of Completion. You can submit this certificate to your local or regional commissioners as evidence to support your application for your accreditation for performing these procedures under the Minor Surgery DES. Typically, this training requires renewal every 2–3 years.

CPD

This course has been award 6 hours of CPD by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
